CSMART Academy is dedicated to providing rigorous safety training for all Bridge and Engineering Officers, responsible for the navigation and operation of the world’s largest fleet of cruise ships belonging to the Carnival Corporation and plc Group.

 

The facility features bridge and engine room simulators utilizing the most innovative technology and training solutions in the maritime industry, modeled closely after technology and practices used in the airline and other industries.

Instructor (Dynamic Positioning) (40 hours per week)

CSMART is currently looking for an Instructor for our Nautical department for 40 hours per week. This role focuses on experience with Dynamic Positioning.

Duties & Responsibilities

As an Instructor (Dynamic Positioning) you are an integral part of the CSMART team, where your key responsibilities will include, yet not limited to:

  • Delivering training to ship-board Nautical/Deck staff
  • Delivering courses according to the CSMART course delivery process
  • Developing courses/new procedures to be implemented onboard ships
  • Participating in Simulation Studies
  • Driving innovative approach in the use of DP for cruise ship operation
  • Keeping up to date with current practices and technology

Requirements & Experience

  • Experience as an Operator with Dynamic Positioning systems
  • A current DP certificate is not required
  • Deck officer certification is advantage (not limited to its’ validity)
  • Experience in teaching/instructing, especially in a simulated environment, would be an asset

Instructor (Nautical Ship handling) (40 hours per week)

CSMART is currently looking for an Instructor for our Nautical department for 40 hours per week. This role focuses on experience at the level of Captain, Staff Captain or as a Pilot. Applicants must possess a high degree of self-motivation and a proven ability to work independently and as part of a team.

CSMART is currently looking for a Health Care Technician for 40 hours per week. This role focuses on Health Care programs that are provided to our seafarers, by conducting clinical exam and such related duties.

Duties & Responsibilities

As a Health Care Technician, you are an integral part of the CSMART team, where your key responsibilities will include, yet not limited to:

  • Conducting components of statutory and wellness exams that would include, but not limited to: Blood sampling; BMI measurements; Vision checks; ECG; Audiograms etc
  • Complete and maintain accurate electronic health records
  • Conduct screening, diagnostic and surveillance duties related to COVID-19
  • Train personnel on public health matters related to COVID-19
  • Assist with medical administration
  • Assist with ordering and controlling medical equipment
  • Assist with communication with local authorities and suppliers
  • Support Health Care Supervisor in creating Health Care policies
  • Staying abreast with relevant development in the medical and public health field

Requirements & Experience

  • MBO degree as a: Medical Technician/Nurse or equivalent Health Care qualification
  • Previous experience in the field of Health Care such as a: Doctor Assistant/Nurse/Medical Technician/Health care Practitioner or equivalent

As a  Communications Specialist, you are an integral part of the CSMART team where your key responsibilities will include:

  • Internal communication:
    • Further implementation of the CSMART Intranet and continually improving it
    • Development and implementation of CSMART strategic communication strategy
    • Responsible for overseeing/aligning all staff communication
    • Responsible managing staff meetings
    • Maintaining and further development of branded templates for all internal and external communication
    • Design and review internal reports and presentations, such as for example the Employee Handbook
  • External Communication, Public Affairs and Digital:
    • Responsible for HESS Operational Training Governance coordination
    • Coordination with Corporate Communications on external stakeholders/reports/etc.
    • Responsible for managing the CSMART website, Social Media and print media
  • Privacy & Compliance Management:
    • Act as the local Data Privacy Officer
    • Coordination of Computer Based Training completion of yearly Ethics & Compliance Training Plan
  • Projects & Events and other:
    • Organize and coordinate visits, tours, and events for both internal and external stakeholders
    • Manage staff events including but not limited to the actual planning, invitation design and logistics

Duties & Responsibilities

As a Senior IT Technician, you are an integral part of the CSMART team where your key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • The provision of technical simulator support to our Operators and Instructors
  • Installing software and replacing hardware when needed
  • Recording, reporting, and following up on bugs and issues with the simulator supplier via a ticketing system
  • Backing up of critical data such as exercises and replays
  • Overseeing various simulator projects
  • Providing technical support for all employees, participants, and visitors
  • Trouble shooting both remotely and inhouse
  • Installing software as required
  • Providing office building support by overseeing work done by maintenance company
  • Assist in developing building policies and procedures
  • Assists in the matters relating to building security, such as issuing access cards and creating security documents
  • Works on personal professional development by attending conferences and exhibitions in order to stay abreast of the rapid technical development
  • Attends training as a BHV /First Responder

Requirements & Experience

  • Qualified with an IT technical education
  • 5+ years of on-hands experience working as an IT Technician

As an Instructor (Electrical), you are an integral part of the CSMART team, where your key responsibilities will include, yet not limited to:

  • Delivering training to ship-board technical staff
  • Delivers the course according to the CSMART course delivery process
  • Developing courses/new procedures to be implemented on board ships
  • Keeping up to date with current practices and technology
  • Liaises with the Course Administration team and other instructors to ensure everything is prepared prior to start of courses
  • Follows up with underperforming participant process
  • Restores equipment and restores any deficiencies

Requirements & Experience

  • Experience should typically be or have been in the role of Senior Engineer/Superintendent, Senior Electrical Technical Officer, Electrical Technical Officer, Subject Matter Experts (SME) Electrical/Automation Engineering
  • 1st Electrical officer or higher is preferable
  • Cruise Ship experience is preferred
  • Experience in teaching/instructing would be an asset
